Your edge bander is the workhorse of the production line — neglect it and you will see open glue lines and rough edges in the finished panels. Here are 10 tips from our factory engineers:
1. Clean the Glue Pot Daily. Remove hardened adhesive each shift with the recommended cleaner and the plastic spatula — never metal tools.
2. Check Heating Elements Weekly. Match glue temperature to your adhesive (EVA 180–200 °C, PUR 200–230 °C); a drifting thermometer means heater failure.
3. Lubricate Chains and Belts every 40 working hours, using only the manual’s lubricant.
4. Inspect Pressure Rollers. Worn rollers cause banding to lift. Check the rubber monthly, replace in pairs.
5. Sharpen Trimming Tools. Dull blades produce rough edges — sharpen or replace them every 3–4 months.
6. Keep Dust Extraction Running. Dust blocks cooling — empty bags daily; a blocked duct is the top cause of overheating.
7. Clean Guide Rails and Sensors weekly with a lint-free cloth — never compressed air.
8. Use the Right Glue. PUR needs a sealed glue pot; EVA does not. Wrong glue clogs the system and voids the warranty.
9. Verify Electrical Connections quarterly — vibration loosens terminals.
10. Follow a Scheduled Service Plan. Daily cleaning, weekly checks, monthly inspections. Scheduled machines break down 60% less often.
The Bottom Line
Ten minutes of daily care prevents days of downtime.
