I. Main Structure of a Precision Panel Saw
The main body of a precision panel saw, also called a sliding table saw, includes the bed, worktable, longitudinal and transverse guides, main saw, marking saw, and transmission components. Its structure and working principle are largely similar to ordinary circular saws, and it can be used independently as a regular circular saw.

The main structural feature of a precision panel saw is the use of two saw blades: the main saw blade and the marking saw blade. When performing cutting operations, the scriber saw pre-cuts grooves 1-2 mm deep and 0.1-0.2 mm wide (thicker than the main saw blade) on the bottom surface of the workpiece. This prevents tearing at the saw edge during the main saw blade’s cut, resulting in good sawing quality. The scriber saw blade has a smaller diameter, typically around 120 mm, and is driven by a separate motor. Its rotational speed is generally above 9000 r/min, and the cutting speed is typically 56-60 m/s. The scriber saw blade and the main saw blade must be aligned in the same vertical plane. The main saw blade has a diameter of 300-400 mm and is driven by a main motor via a V-belt.
Another key structural feature of precision panel saws is that the scriber and main saw blades remain stationary. A movable worktable, made of aluminum profile and carrying the workpiece, is manually moved back and forth to perform the sawing operation. Due to the special structure of the guide rails on the movable worktable, manual feeding is easy and effortless, and the machining accuracy is very high. The bed of a precision saw is mostly welded from steel plates with a thickness of 5-6mm. It uses laser cutting, which is stable and aesthetically pleasing, and can ensure that there is no tilting or twisting deformation during sawing. The fixed worktable is fixed to the top of the bed and is required to be flat and non-deformable. It is equipped with a longitudinal cutting guide and its adjustment mechanism.
II. Precautions for Operating a Precision Panel Saw Precision panel saws are dynamically or statically balanced and generally do not require a foundation; they can be placed on a flat surface. During operation, the workpiece is placed on the moving worktable, which is manually pushed to feed the workpiece. Operation is very convenient and flexible. However, safety should be a constant concern during operation to prevent accidents.
Precautions
1. The board should be firmly against the stop and should not be moved.
2. Adjust the cutting speed according to the thickness and hardness of the board, advancing the machine at a uniform speed, avoiding excessive speed or force.
3. When cutting small pieces, use wooden strips to hold them firmly as you push them forward.
4. Operators must wear a face mask, not gloves, loose clothing, or long hair.
5. Do not directly reach near the rotating saw blade to retrieve items. If necessary, use a long piece of material to push it aside before removing it.
6. If the cut board has defective edges or corners, consider replacing the saw blade.
7. After completing the cutting task, turn off the power and clean the saw table and surrounding area.
III. Maintenance of the Precision Panel Saw
1. Depending on the workload, regularly clean the internal dust of the machine to ensure proper motor cooling.
2. Regularly clean the dust from the push table rails to ensure smooth operation.
3. Regularly inspect the belts and replace them promptly if wear is found.
4. Regularly lubricate the parts of the machine body that require lubrication to ensure stable and quiet operation.
