The planer is a woodworking machine with automatic feeding and high production efficiency. The tool planes materials with two reference surfaces, then processes the opposite side for specific dimensions, producing finished materials. For safe operation, follow these points:
(1) During operation, strictly avoid planing two pieces of wood with different materials and specifications simultaneously, and ensure the wood’s thickness does not exceed the manual’s specified limit.
(2) The operator should stand on the side of the feeder. When receiving or feeding the material, do not wear gloves. Always put the big end in first when feeding the material. The material receiver can only receive the material after the planed material leaves the material roller.
(3) The horizontal gap between the planer and the planer table should be between 10 and 30 mm. It is strictly forbidden to use a planer with an open groove.
(4) The feed amount should be 2 to 5 mm each time. In case of hardwood or knots, reduce the feed amount and slow down the feeding speed.
(5) Planing length must equal or exceed roller center distance. Use support plates for thin plates (<10 mm thickness).
(6) Equip the planer with a sensitive rebound claw device. Adjust the feed gear roller and the support roller to maintain the same level and vertical distance.
Position the gear roller 1-2 mm below the workpiece surface and 0.3-0.8 mm above the table surface. Ensure the work surface is flat and even.
(7) If the wood shifts or jams during planing, stop the machine, lower the table, remove the wood, and clear the fault.
